Thursday, 10.15.2015
ARLINGTON, Texas - The Team USA squad for the 2015 World Tenpin Bowling Association World Women's Championships has been selected and Danielle McEwan of Stony Point, New York, will make her debut in the event that will take place Dec. 5-14 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Bowling fans will be able to watch the action live from the Khalifa International Bowling Centre on BOWL.com's BowlTV.

While McEwan will make her first appearance in a World Women's Championships, five of the six Team USA members selected by the Team USA coaching staff were on the squad for the 2013 event.

Returning to represent the United States will be Liz Johnson of Cheektowaga, New York; Stefanie Johnson of Grand Prairie, Texas; Kelly Kulick of Union, New Jersey; Shannon O'Keefe of O'Fallon, Illinois, and Shannon Pluhowsky of Kettering, Ohio.

McEwan is no stranger to competing on the world stage, having represented the U.S. in the 2012 and 2013 QubicaAMF World Cup. She also was a member of the Junior Team USA squad that won team gold at 2012 WTBA World Youth Championships.

"No matter what the event, it's always an honor to represent my country and compete with USA on my back." McEwan said. "This tournament, in particular, is going to be very special because it is the largest platform for a team event in the world, against the best in the world! I'm very excited to be part of this amazing team."

McEwan won the Professional Women's Bowling Association Tour Championship title in September and said the PWBA Tour "has made us all extremely sharp."

"Having something to bowl every weekend and having the head-to-head competition, especially on the various patterns, will only make us stronger going into this tournament," she said.

The last World Women's Championships was held in 2013 in Henderson, Nevada. Team USA will look to reclaim the coveted five-player team title after falling to Korea in the title match.
